Trash? NEVER!!!!!! Give It A New Life.

Tina is the truest recycler I have ever met! Now, my grandma grew up during The Great Depression, and she did her fair share of mending old blankets and reusing pillow cases, turning shabby old underwear into rags... but I have never seen such scientific ingenuity when it comes to re-using TRASH! Any plastic container, including the lid, aluminum soda cans,  milk cartons, cereal boxes, aluminum foil, detergent jugs, shredded newspaper, and basically anything imperishable that I haven't mentioned can be reborn! Leave it to Tina to discover a use for it.  Her creative new line of Up-Cycled Jewelry is just one of the venue's she has used to redefine her once-used household objects. And they have turned out to be so perfect! The earrings are lightweight, unique, whimsical and colorful. I have a pair that I wear at least once a week, when I want to feel casual and yet blingy at the same time.
The other day, I was walking by Tina's work station. I assumed she had gone to Hobby Lobby and purchased all the perfect sized jewelry containers to hold her various beads, hooks and hoops. But, at a closer look she told me that each of these containers were once the bottoms of juice or soda bottles, salad or deli containers. I was amazed that it all came out so ORGANIZED! I never imagined using random plastic containers to organize your creative particulars could be so neat and clean and visually pleasant! And not to mention the old violin case she displays her tools and what not's in. Ingenious! I'm pretty sure Tina's life mantra has something to do with finding a good use for every particle she owns and continually stretching each resource to it's limits and beyond. She has an amazing gift for doing what she loves to do. There's a verse above her sewing machine that says it completely, "Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might." And that she does!

No Backorders.

We will ship only the items we have in stock for an order and not backorder the rest.
With cotton prices increasing and the fabric manufacturers changing their policies, it is getting harder for us to be able to gage exactly when an item can be sewn and restocked. Therefore, it is necessary for us to keep track of our orders by concentrating on our in-stock items. This does not mean that we will not be restocking these items, it just means that we have less control over backordered items than we have had in the past. Customers may reorder the items that are not in stock at another time.

Growing up, I was captivated at my Grandma’s side as I watched her busy fingers sew beautiful fabrics together.  Her feet tapping on the antique sewing machine treadle, she spent her precious hours pouring her heart into beautiful creations.

In addition, my Granny Virgie inspired me to design memorable, hand sewn treasures.  My mind is always whirling with

new possibilities...  and I am delighted to share this special line of exquisite pieces, designed and masterfully made and featuring the touch of hand applied Venice lace.  I thoroughly enjoy designing garments with fine details and find

great fulfillment in the traditions taught by those who have gone before me.

It is with great pleasure that I share this Couture Collection which features hand applied Venice lace produced through my own stitching techniques. I also am happy to share my Tina's Gallery styles with you that are available for purchase too.

Lead times will vary due to the quality and nature of this technique. The Venice Lace is hand applied upon receipt of your order. Please plan your orders accordingly.

Times are rather shaky and troublesome news is everywhere. But there is great hope and safety for those who trust in the Lord.

Here is a very apropos scripture that I stumbled across today.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it's waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river who's streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall. God will help her at break of day.

Healing Love

We pray the healing love of our Father God to wash over you with ever increasing waves of peace and life. That the cancer would be dissolved, your body made fresh and replenished. A step back in history......

Three lovely books from the Bells of Howell series by Tracie Peterson 

and Judith Miller, both female Christian novelists.  I LOVE these books!

I am a fan of historical novels anyway, and these were of special interest

to me because they are about the textile industry and its beginnings

here in American during the Industrial Revolution.  Very eye-opening

fiction, but based on facts.  Paints a true picture of what life was like

being employed in that industry when many helpless people were taken

advantage of, but they rose to overcome seemingly insurmountable

obstacles. You won't be able to put them down!!!  - Tina

Yippeee!!! It's Friday Night.................

CAN'T WAIT to watch a movie and eat some pizza!  That's the tradition at our house for Friday evenings.

What movie will we watch....???????  I'm always in the mood for a Jane Austen flick, but sometimes hubby insists on a Lonesome Dove.....just so I stop and take a break!!!!  Have had a great week, but filled with it's share of stressful surprises!

Lots of lace and buttons................

I love this wonderful collage of vintage trim and buttons!!  Thought I would share it with you.  I have a collection of old buttons that I treasure.  Sometimes I take them out of their drawers and jars and just play with them, like a kid with a toy!  And my laces are all over the place, but I enjoy them so.  I ordered a few new pieces off of Ebay a couple of months ago....that was my Christmas gift to me.

P.S.  Haven't had the time to play with those yet!

Rhinestones in my peanut butter.......

Yep, that's right....IN THE PEANUT BUTTER JAR!!!!!

I guess this illustrates the joys....and hazards....of making jewelry in my kitchen!  I had all my jewelry findings spread out all over my kitchen last week as I was into one of my creative jewelry binges.....I remember trying to gulp down occasional bites of my raisin bagel and peanut butter as I was glueing and stringing rhinestones.  Well,

I decided it was time for another bagel this past weekend.  As I was chewing I suddenly chomped down on something hard and thought "wow, this is a large raisin pit....never had this happen before".  Well, let me tell you.....it was no raisin pit!!!!  It was a gynormous rhinestone!!!!  Thanks goodness I didn't break a tooth!  I've already had one root canal in the last month, and have a crown scheduled.....don't need any more dental emergencies!  All jewelry makers:  BEWARE!!! HAH!  I'm laughing now!

March Update

Little Furry Friends

Prissy is our little helper. She is always ready to tell you exactly what she thinks... and boy does she tell you and everybody else everything she has to say about anything! She prances around the office like a manager of the building, making sure everything is tippy top!

What a Beautiful, Busy Day!!!

The sun shined so brightly this afternoon......streaming in our windows and beckoning us to stop and
absorb it's cheerful rays.  Birds chirped outside the window, Prissy snoozed on the floor beside me
seemingly undaunted by the phone ringing and  the fax churning out its pages.  So many phone calls
are coming in from around the country from those who need new sleepwear, want to restock their
store, or have just discovered our website and are excited to know more.  It's such a blessing to have
this busyness.........wish it was even busier, but ever thankful for those that have found us and
continue to support us.  Back to work now.................
